Also, Nurse Practitioners don’t have the giant egos many Doctors have. They don’t think they know better than the patient, so they are more open and better listeners. I think that male doctors discount half of what a woman patient says due to their preconceived notions about women, i.e; women are hysterical and exaggerate their symptoms, etc. Nurse Practitioners meet you on your level.

I always have better care with Nurse Practitioners when I visit a clinic for anything. They take more time with their patients and actually act like they care about the patient.

I don’t think that the type of provider that you should try makes any difference, as long as, they listen to you and appropiately treat your symptoms. Are your chances “better” if you try a NP? I really don’t think so.

You somehow seemed to omit those wonderful providers known as Physician Assistants, who preceded NP’s as Primary providers.
